Semi-Intensive English

The same great program as the IEP, however, students only attend class for three hours per day.  Students may take this program from 1 to 12 weeks. A student visa is not required for this program. This program meets 3 hours per day Monday-Friday.

The Semi-Intensive English Program consists of the following subject areas:

Integrated Skills (two hours per day)
This class emphasizes the integration of speaking, listening, reading, writing and grammar skills that contribute to successful communication.  Language skills are quickly developed through dynamic and communicative projects which utilize the computer lab, the Internet and other media.

Students may pick one of the following classes:

Reading and Vocabulary (one hour per day)
Students expand vocabulary through reading and writing activities. Students read and discuss high-interest texts on current topics and use the vocabulary and structures they learn to help develop their written communication skills in a variety of situations.

Listening and Speaking (one hour per day)
Students develop listening strategies, practice conversational skills and improve pronunciation, fluency and accuracy. Activities and assignments are designed to improve spoken English and listening, and the understanding and use of idiomatic expressions. Extensive use is made of video, audio and Internet resources.
