How to apply for English Programs

The Intensive English Program offers 3 semester length (15 – 19 weeks) programs per year. However, flexible start dates are available and students are not required to attend the entire semester. If a student plans to attend an American school, we recommend beginning at the start of one of our 3 semesters and completing a minimum of one semester. Students that are on vacation or have limited dates are welcome to join our program for as many weeks as they can attend.

2. Complete the application form.
   
   
3. If you are enrolling in the Intensive English program for less than 4 weeks or the Semi-Intensive English Program, send your application along with your payment to University of Miami by email, fax or mail.
   
   
4. If you are enrolling in the Intensive English Program for more than 4 weeks, you must apply for the Form I-20.
   
   
5. Return your application, bank letter, and deposit of $2100 by email, fax or mail to the attention of Haley O. Wulliman-Gomes.
   
   Once we receive your completed application, bank letter and deposit, the University of Miami will process your Form I-20 and pay the SEVIS I-901 fee on your behalf.  Your Form I-20, acceptance letter, and receipt for the SEVIS I-901 fee will be sent to you via FedEx.
   
   You must present the Form I-20 to the American Consulate to obtain a student visa (F-1 visa) before coming to the United States. For country-specific information, contact the U.S embassy or consulate in your country. For additional information visit the Department of State  or contact the Student Services Coordinator.
