How do I? Find a course There are 6 ways to explore edMIAMI.com. - Hit an “audience” tab directly under the smiling faces on our home page—Kids & Teens, College Students, Adults or Corporations—to start looking for courses.
- Click on Departments & Programs (on the bar atop the home page) to check out a list of general areas encompassing our course offerings (e.g., Computers, Finance & Accounting, Test Preparation & Study Skills, etc.) These departments link you to courses.
- Choose our Quick Search option at right on the home page; it’s especially useful when you’re in a hurry and know exactly what topic you want.
- Pick the Advanced Search feature (the “Search” button at very top right of your screen or the link directly under Quick Search).
- Click on Course Catalog (on the bar at the top of the home page) or on Complete Course Catalog (under Quick Search) to see a listing of courses from A to Z.
- Hit Español at the far top right to begin a search in Spanish for courses offered in Spanish.
Create a “login” You don’t have to create a login (short for “logging in to the system,” which requires registering your email address and a password at edMIAMI) to see the variety of courses and programs for all ages at the University of Miami. But by doing so, you gain access to the “Tools and Resources” section of the site as well as University of Miami resources and special offers. Hit the Login button on the gray-blue navigation bar next to My Cart near the top of your screen. Create an account By taking the additional step of creating an account at edMIAMI, you’ll get news and announcements targeted to your needs and interests. And your edMIAMI preferences, interests, requests and course history are saved and password protected. You can update your preferences any time. Hit the Login or My Account buttons on the gray-blue navigation bar and you’ll see a link called “Create a new account.”
- Purchase a course
If you start the process of buying a course, you’ll eventually be brought automatically to the “create a new account” option.
- Tools & resources
To download articles connected to a particular course or program, you’ll be prompted to create an account.
Pay for a course Cash or check Currently, the preferred method of payment is online. However, if you need to pay by check or cash, that is done in person at 111 Allen Hall on UM’s Coral Gables campus.
