College Credit Courses at IMG Academies
Student-athletes, either advanced high school seniors or high school graduates that have chosen to postpone college for a year to train at IMG Academies , now have the opportunity to earn college credit on-campus. The University of Miami offers a minimum of four college courses on the IMG Academies campus each semester. The courses taught (English Composition, Anthropology, Economics, and Sports Management) are chosen to be easily transferable to the student's school of choice. Since students only study part-time, enrollment in UM courses does not affect NCAA eligibility.
Students apply to the University of Miami as non-degree seeking and therefore do not receive admission to the University of Miami in Coral Gables. However, the courses taught in Bradenton are the same high quality courses a student would take if they enrolled at UM in Coral Gables. University of Miami courses feature small, highly interactive classes to enhance the interaction between students and faculty.
This fall, the University of Miami and game on will offer an innovative Post Grad Academic program to prepare student-athletes for the demands of higher education. Students develop exceptional written and verbal communication skills that are essential to collegiate and professional success!
