Enrollment Requirements
A bachelor's degree, with an interest in the healthcare field, is preferred. However, we recognize that some individuals may have ample experience in the field, but might not hold a bachelor's degree - call 305-284-4000 before enrolling if you do not hold a bachelors degree.

In order for your registration to be validated students must submit the following documents either prior to enrolling or within 4 business days of enrolling in the program:

• Updated Resume
• A short (maximum of 500 words) essay which answers:
  1. Why do you want to be a patient advocate?
  2. What skills do you have that will enable you to be a competent patient advocate?
  3. How do plan on using the Patient Advocate Certificate?
     (Self employed, employed by a hospital or other healthcare institution, etc.)

Cancellation Policy for Certificate Programs:

Cancellation requests received more than 3 days prior to certificate start date………100% Refund
Cancellation requests received within 3 days (72 hours) of certificate start date……   75% Refund
Cancellation requests received on or after certificate start date………………………   No Refund

The University reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any program with insufficient enrollment or for reasons beyond our control. In any such cases, a full refund of fees and deposits will be made. Before a refund can be issued, verification of your payment, confirmation of the pertaining records and administrative review and approval must be completed. While we will expedite your refund request, please allow a minimum of 45 days for processing.
