Word (6 hours)

  • Formatting documents: aligning and justifying text, changing the font format (size, color, and style), line spacing, bulleted and numbered lists, page and paragraph breaks.
  • Copying and pasting items to and from the Clipboard.
  • Inserting ClipArt, Word Art, and pictures from a file into a document.
  • Creating a header and/or footer: formatting the text, inserting the current date and time, adding page numbers.
  • Using Find and Replace.
  • Using Paste Special to insert an Excel worksheet object into a document and formatting the object from Word.
  • Saving a document using the SaveAs command.
  • Printing a document: choosing how many and which pages to print, Page Setup.

Mail Merge (2 hours)

  • Using Mail Merge Wizard and/or the Mail Merge toolbar with a new or existing main document.
  • Selecting the data source (recipient list) and inserting merge fields.
  • Merging the new records into a new document.
