You must successfully complete all six courses to be eligible to take the CFP® Certification Examination:

PFP-501

Financial Planning Fundamentals and Insurance

Spring 2009
PFP-502 Income Tax Planning Fall 2008
PFP-503 Employee Benefit And Retirement Planning Fall 2008
PFP-504 Investment Planning Fall 2008
PFP-505 Estate and Gift Tax Planning Spring 2009
PFP-506 Comprehensive Financial Planning
Prerequisites for 506: All other PFP courses
(501, 502, 503, 504, 505)

Note: 501, 502, 503, 504, 505 can be taken at any time. However, 506 must be taken after successful completion of the aforementioned courses.

The University of Miami does not certify individuals to use the CFP® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ marks. Only the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Board of Standards grants CFP® certificates and licenses to those persons who, in addition to completing an education requirement such as this CFP® Board Registered Program, have met its ethics, experiences and examination requirements.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner™ and federally registered CFP (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
