What is Personal Financial Planning?

Personal Financial Planning is a certificate program consisting of 6 courses offered during the spring, summer and fall.

  • If you take 1 class per week the program can be completed in 2 years.
  • If you take 2 classes per week the program can be completed in 1 year.

Completion of the course allows you to sit the CFP® exam for the CFP Board to become a CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. Each course consists of 12 classes that are 3.5 hours long (42 hours in total for each course).

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner™ and federally registered CFP (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
