Online Mandarin Chinese - Level 4

This is the intermediate level Mandarin Chinese language course; the 4th course in the sequence.

The student will continue to sharpen listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in Mandarin Chinese through activities that are based on pedagogically proven methods of foreign language instruction. Throughout the units of material (The House, Shopping, Entertainment, More Free Time and Trips), students learn to express themselves using an ever-increasing vocabulary, present-tense verbs, past-tense verbs, articles, and adjectives. Grammar is introduced and practiced in innovative and interesting ways with a variety of learning styles in mind.Culture is sprinkled throughout the course in an attempt to engage the learner focus on the Chinese-speaking world and its culture, people, geographical locations and histories.

Upon successful completion of this course online Mandarin Chinese level 4, the student will be able to:

• Talk about their homes and their responsibilities at home
• Talk about places to shop and use vocabulary related to shopping and buying things
• Talk about free time activities of interest and that are popular in the Chinese speaking world
• Talk about how to plan a trip
• Talk about how they get to different places and explore various modes of transportation available in China
• Talk about the past (past actions and activities)
• Learn some Chinese history
